Mr. Johnson has worked in the London insurance market for 30 years. He started his career working for Alexander Howden in its North American claims department. He went on to work for HSBC Insurance Brokers, where he specialised in financial institutions claims. At HSBC, he handled claims relating to comprehensive crime policies and directors and officers liability insurance on a world-wide basis.

Mr. Johnson then went on to become director of claims for HJL (a subsidiary of Alexander Howden). At HJL, he expanded upon his experience of financial institution claims, handling matters emanating from specie and errors and omissions as well as financial institution policies. Mr. Johnson then left as part of a team to set up the financial institutions division of Johnson & Higgins.

After a period of time as director of financial institution claims, Mr. Johnson became responsible for all liability claims at Johnson & Higgins. This role involved handling claims emanating from a diverse book of business, including employers liability, professional indemnity, and hospital professional liability.

Mr. Johnson left Johnson & Higgins to set up the London office of the Chicago-based law firm Querrey & Harrow. There followed a period of expansion and growth for the Querrey & Harrow practice in London. Mr. Johnson subsequently joined the firm of Meckler Bulger & Tilson and once again ran the firm’s London office.
